Northern Liberties is located north of Center City and is just above Old City. In recent years it has become one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the city. Home to some of the cities most eclectic restaurants, clubs and shops, it has become a center for local artists and musicians. It could be Philly’s answer to New York’s SoHo District. Once an industrial section of the city, the housing stock was primary made up of row houses; now warehouses are being reconfigured into loft living and work spaces. Prices in Northern Liberties range from $160,000 to $1.3mil with an average sale price for 2007 of $310,000.
